Holmes Chapel Christmas Market - new and improved

Having had to take the annual Christmas Market online in 2020 due to Covid restrictions the Holmes Chapel Partnership were excited to bring the event back the the village in December 2021.

However, the previous location of the Co-op car park was now too small to enable any kind of social distancing during the event.

The decision was made to expand the location by putting 40 stalls along London Road (which was partially closed for the event) and a fairground in the car park behind the Co-op.

In total, there were over 50 charity and commercial stalls, both outdoors and indoors at the Scout Hall – selling all sorts of gifts and novelties, as well as food and drink and raising money for charity.

A bigger and better stage was erected near Barclays Bank with entertainment provided throughout the event by local primary schools, musicians and singers, Dane Sound ... and of course Father Christmas.

The event was so well attended and such a success that this new extended format will be used for years to come.
