Peter Whiers

Chair

Peter has lived in Holmes Chapel since 1988, when he moved to the area to work on the Sizewell B project.

He is married to Philippa and has two grown-up children and three grandchildren. Although originally working in Nuclear Engineering, Peter changed his career path to work in Economic Development and then moved to be the Chief Executive of South East Cheshire Enterprise and the Borough of Congleton Chamber of Commerce. In 2010 he returned to Nuclear Engineering but retired from full-time employment at the end of 2018.

Peter has been actively involved in the Holmes Chapel community, as a member and past Chairman of both the Holmes Chapel Round Table and Holmes Chapel 41 Club over a period of 30 years. As Chair, he hopes to use his experience to assist the Partnership to fully engage with the expanding village and to help make Holmes Chapel an even better place to live, for the young, the old and that big group in the middle which he is a member of.

Peter enjoys football and has been a season ticket holder at Old Trafford for 25 years.
