MARCH 2023 – HOME, GARDEN & HOBBIES
The Holmes Chapel Freebie Swaps committee are holding their first event for 2023 in March. It will be a Home, Garden and Hobbies Swap. The date is still to be confirmed.
The committee had a fantastic event at the end of last year, the Everything for Children event was well attended and beneficial to so many people. A very big THANK YOU to our volunteers who were all absolutely amazing, as well as Hermitage Primary PTFA for hosting a lovely café.
Collectively as a community we have:

Saved a massive number of non-degradable items from land fill

Supported a huge number of our local community and those in our neighbouring area
-
Directly changed the lives of at least 10 children
-
Supported families in the Ukraine with warm clothing
-
Sent 6 bags of clothes to Barnardos in Northwich
-
Provided local families an opportunity to collect value for money toys and clothes
-
Brought together a huge team of diverse people to work together
-
All socialised with lots of diverse people

Saved families money
-
Sang along to Billy Joel. With a fair bit of dancing too!

Learnt how very generous people are in our community - We have more people who give than take

Had fun! We made a difference
For this next event maybe you have a waffle maker sitting at the back of your cupboard gathering dust, or one too many blankets for your family to use. Or perhaps you have a box of cotton thread shoved in a corner of your wardrobe. You get the idea, anything goes, if it falls into the Home, Garden and Hobby category you should be safe! Please just be mindful to only donate items that are in good condition.
You can take up to 15 items for free – the only fee you pay is £5 entry fee which is used to cover the hall hire.
