HOLMES CHAPEL FUN RUN
Sunday 11th May 2025

Holmes Chapel Partnership helped to organise a family Fun Run in Holmes Chapel on Sunday 11th May in the Dane Meadow. This new one-off event was suggested by local resident Gill Bradfield to support fundraising efforts for our local groups and charities, as well as the Kenya trip organised by Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School, which many of our local teenagers are going on.
Start times were staggered with three different groups for those between ages 4-16.
The £2 entry fee covered the costs of the event with all profits going to the Kenya trip, with participants encouraged to organise their own sponsorship for their chosen group or charity.
We were grateful for dry weather in the run up to the event meaning that the approximately 2.5km route was mud free on the day.

Chris Appleton from Dane Sound Radio provided music for the starting point on Danefield Close, as well as leading a warm up session before the run - although the sunny weather meant it was already rather warm!

The Shed Crew set up refreshments, selling bacon and sausage sandwiches as well as hot and cold drinks.

Scott and Matt from Holmes Chapel Fire Station took part running in full fire gear! They also provided First Aid support.

Thanks to everyone who volunteered to help steward the event, runners were cheered along at regular points throughout the route.

Everyone who took part received a medal, which were designed and made by The Shed Crew.
